An Update on Reunion Weekend 2020 A memo from Louis Calvelli, Director of Alumni Relations
Who could imagine June without it? For many Jaspers—especially our Anniversary Class members—Reunion Weekend is a cherished rite of spring.
But in these uncertain times, colleges must put many traditions on hold. So too Manhattan. To ensure your health and safety amid unprecedented challenges, our much-anticipated June 2020 Reunion Weekend has been postponed.
When I became your alumni relations director three years ago, I could not foresee a time when Jaspers would not march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade; gather for the Jasper Open; or celebrate Commencement in May. But preventing the spread of COVID-19 has convinced our city to cancel many public activities through June. We at Manhattan must do our part for friends and alumni.
That said, you can be sure the wait will be worth it. Whether you belong to a milestone Anniversary Class or merely seek to reunite with other alumni on campus, you can look forward to celebrating in high Jasper style in the near future.
As always, my thoughts and prayers—and those of our entire College community—are with you and your families. We look forward to welcoming you and your classmates back to campus when the pandemic is behind us. God bless—and Go Jaspers!
